As a registered dietitian in private practice, I’ve heard countless stories from women who’ve struggled binge eating, emotional eating, food obsession, and body dysmorphia. They’re all-or-nothing with food- following a strict plan on Monday just to go completely off the handle with food by Friday. Then, they feel guilty and swear to start over the following week.
Not only does this pattern of yo-yo dieting make them feel confused about what to eat, but it also chips away at their self-confidence. Unfortunately, the shame fuels more destructive behavior until they seek out help.
Countless times an exhausted dieter has sat in my office and said, I’m done dieting- I just want to eat like a normal freakin’ person!
To help more women feel less alone in their battles with eating and find peace with food, I wrote How to Eat Like A Normal Person. This book is not another cookie-cutter manual insisting women “eat more of X, avoid all of Y.” Rather, it’s a collection of stories based off real clients of mine with prompts and exercises that teach readers how to eat a balanced & sustainable diet.
The concepts in How to Eat Like a Normal Person transformed my clients’ relationship to food as well as my own, so I wanted to bring them to women who may not have access to a registered dietitian.
My mission is to help readers become confident, increase their energy, and feel in control around food. After applying the strategies in this interactive workbook, readers will never need to diet again!
